3 Reflectasol umbrellas and reflectasol clamp | eBay

Reflectasol umbrellas and Adoramas portable reflector bracket.

I started with Larson-Reflectasol umbrellas and brackets that used an L shaped extruded aluminum arm thing that allow dead center alignment.

  • I use Westcott softboxes and Reflectasol umbrellas. Reflectasols are practically indestructable (I've got some that I've been using on location for nearly thirty years), and you can usually score some good deals on used Reflectasols on eBay.

I wonder about these brackets. I started with Larson-Reflectasol umbrellas and brackets that used an L shaped extruded aluminum arm thing that allow dead center alignment. I wonder why nothing like them is available today? They turn up on eBay from time to time.

The "Impact" house brand is the same kind of import you can get through eBay. While B&H may have initially agreed to a certain design and material specification, mediocre quality assurance and consistency is one of the hassles of dealing with Chinese companies at the low end.

The American importer brings in shipments of closed boxes and does not do individual inspections--they wouldn't even know there was a problem or a change until customers started complaining.
